Adios, ACORN

Fox News has reported that ACORN will be shutting its doors. Why? According to ACORN spokesman Kevin Whelan, “It’s really declining revenue in the face of a series of attacks from partisan operatives and right-wing activist that have taken away our ability to raise the resources we need.”

Yeah, Kevin, that must be it. There’s just something nutty , partisan, and “right-wing” about someone saying, ” it’s wrong to operate a prostitution ring and evade taxes”.   I think what  actually happened was  ACORN got its nuts  into enough high places (think 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. etc..) that ACORN became unnecessary. Why operate a corrupt, radical left political organization when you can operate a corrupt, radical left wing White House?  The ACORNS haven’t fallen far enough from the tree.

Don’t lose too much sleep worrying about unemployed ACORN workers. Thanks to the health care reforms passed yesterday, the IRS will be hiring 16,500 new employees.   I’m sure they wouldn’t mind having a few people around who know how to cheat the system without getting caught.  In November, the squirrels will return to the ballot box and start burying a few of these “nuts” for another time.
