Proof of Insurance? Required. Proof of Citizenship? Nah…

I like Gateway Pundit. Yesterday he posted the following question:

“So just to be clear, it’s constitutional to penalize someone for not showing proof of health insurance but not to request proof of citizenship?”

In this video, Obama first admits the federal government’s “failure to act responsibly” and then gives the state of Arizona a warning that he’s looking into “the civil rights and other implications” of the legislation passed by this sovereign state.

As Doug Wilson recently put it, “We don’t need the irresponsible responsible people in Washington telling the people who have to live with the consequences of their abdications to ‘just be patient.’ It doesn’t work that way. Those exhorting us all to be responsible should start by showing us how. Sorry, Doug. I’m not holding my breath.

Inaction by impotent politicians in Washington, including Obama, has led to a national problem with serious consequences on a state and local level. Yet, somehow Obama has found the backbone to confront the people of Arizona when they’ve taken to doing his job for him. Makes you wonder whose side this guy’s on.
