IL School: China OK, Arizona Not

Just when you thought public high school administrators couldn’t get any further out of control with their politically correct, radically liberal agenda, a school in Highland Park, IL has raised the bar yet again.

According to Fox News, after winning their first conference title in 26 years and months of fundraising, administrators at the school just North of Chicago have decided the girl’s basketball team is grounded. They won’t be allowed to play in a tournament in Arizona because of “safety concerns and because the trip ‘would not be aligned’ with the school’s ‘beliefs and values.'” Look, given the way that liberals and illegals have protested Arizona’s new law, I can understand the safety concerns but it just doesn’t seem right to keep these girls at home as some sort of ideologically motivated stunt to prove the school district is oh, so trendy in its multicultural proclivities.

One parent, Michael Evans, told Fox News that “the school has sent children to China, they’ve sent children to South America, they’ve sent children to the Czech Republic…. The beliefs and values of China are apparently aligned, since they approved that trip.” Well, obviously. Chicago is the alleged home town of the world’s most famous socialist, Barack H. Obama. Given the similarities between socialism and communism, is it any wonder that a Chicago school would be more sympathetic to the “values” of China than those of Arizona?
