Matty’s Corralled Thoughts *Thanksgiving Edition

The biggest news of the day was China and Russia have banded together and will no longer be using the US dollar for their bilateral trading. As of now, both countries will continue to use the dollar as their country’s respective reserve currency. The Chinese Premier Wen Jiabo and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin pledged that two countries will “never become each other’s enemy” and I will add as long as the USA is still around and strong.  The unholy alliance is a aimed at avoiding the risks the unstable dollar represents and is in no way a back-door way to challenge the dollar as the standard unit of international trade. So they say. Still think the idea of a one world currency is a fantasy?   Wanna bet?  Any child can read the healthcare bill and discover it too is a back door into a single payer system. As the Chinese economy continues to grow around 10% and the Russian (heavily dependent on oil prices) grew around 5% vs the US economy at 2.5%, what currency do you expect the Arabs/Russians will prefer in the next two years to buy their oil?  Just to let you in on Putin’s judgement- he also stated today that Leonardo DeCaprio is a real man

Today being one of the busiest travel days of the year, and the possibility of many protests about the use of scanners, the TSA had extra fondlers on staff today.  A loosely organized effort encouraged travelers at major airports to join in a “National Opt-Out Day.”  The idea was to forego the scan and opt for the heavy pet down from TSA.  Opt-Out Day failed because people just want to go home and see their loved ones.  They should have thought about the rent-a-mob that the Democrats like to use at public events.  I,  too, am a little nervous about a machine that can only do what those x-ray glasses on the back of a comic book could do- see through clothes.  It is strange how these machines have been thrust upon the public in such quick fashion (follow the money here), yet the radiation levels have not been studied. Since Nancy Pelosi will be traveling coach amongst us little people, maybe there will be a congressional hearing on the matter.  I guess in some strange way the TSA is brainwashed into thinking these brutally invasive sexual gropings are somehow keeping the world safe.  I wish, as a sign of solidarity, the President would subject himself and his entire family to the scan and hand procedures in front of the public like his subjects have to do on a daily basis…

Appearing on Laura Ingraham’s radio show Wednesday this morning, Sarah Palin said that while she “loves the Bushes,” she sees George H.W. and Barbara Bush as “blue bloods” who are trying to “pick and choose” the 2012 Republican presidential nominee.   Mrs. Palin said this in response to the Bushes doing an appearance on Larry King Live where Barbara said “I hope Sarah Palin stays in Alaska.”   Political observers believe this is a way for the Republican establishment to cut Sarah off at the knees and force her, through the media, to not consider running for the nation’s highest office.  The Bushes were also appearing to have a fondness for Bill Clinton (very likeable) and prefer a the  presidential candidacy of Mitt Romney.  Palin later replied, “that the elites don’t understand that competition is good.”  After seeing Palin’s animal trophy room, I would hate to be caught in her crosshairs…

Finally, we at Red State Report are very thankful for you the reader. We have  incredible traffic and are very blessed for Obama and Biden giving us such great material.  I have presented a link to Rush Limbaugh’s page for the final word about Thanksgiving.  It is a great read for mythbusters and historians alike on how our country came to celebrate Thanksgiving. I also want to leave you with George Washington’s first proclamation about Thanksgiving…

“Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to “recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:
Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand, at the city of New York, the 3d day of October, A.D. 1789.

The crazies that called for the National Opt Out Day, don’t know what they are talking and the majority of our nation flew anyway. As soon as we get another terrorist attack these same crazies will be yelling that our government we were not doing enough to detect them. They have no ideas on what should be implemented instead of what is in place, but I am sure that will call this a victory. What a bunch of empty suits that are just real haters not debaters.

The half term governor is a “Dan Qualye” in heels. Since we already had an idiot “W” that caused our current economic debacle, America knows not to trust in fools who think they are brilliant. One of the reason for “W” failure was his drinking, Palin just has bad genes.
