Barbara Walters Stands Up For A Pervert

I really didn’t want to go further into the Weinergate tale, but finding some high profile people sticking their heads out there to defend this pervert deserves some comment.

The esteemed Barbara Walters stuck her head out there to defend Anthony Weiner (albeit this was shortly before he admitted the deed).  In her statement while on The View (I didn’t watch it, thank God, just reading the transcript was bad enough), Walters said:

“This is my theory – this doesn’t mean that it is right. He is married to this beautiful woman,
may be that he took that picture and sent it to his wife to say this is how much I miss you.”

Walters didn’t stop there.  Barbara had to besmear Sarah Palin in the deal, saying:

If Sarah Palin can still ride around on her bus and be considered as a possible president, this man can override this, stay in congress and just hope there is another scandal that will take him –”

In a real Bizarro World moment, Joy Behar stepped in to defend Sarah Palin (I know, I am visiting my priest, this has to be a sign of the Apocalypse):

“Let me defend Sarah for 30 seconds,” Behar protested. “The woman has no sex scandal in her dossier, in her arsenal. This is a completely different thing from Sarah Palin. And I want to defend her here.”

I know you may need the Heimlich maneuver at this moment, but it is fun to watch liberals who believe in their ideology so much that they defend any lib for any atrocity.  Inferring a private citizen riding across the country in a bus is worse than a married man sexting college girls is a real stretch for ole’ Barbara.

Ms. Walters continued on today blaming Weiner’s actions on anything but himself.  Barbara’s latest comments are:

“He has a lovely wife. Why is he doing it? This is not my theory. That it is a result of Viagra.”  That little blue pill is responsible for all of life’s troubles.

At least Barbara has more respectable excuses than Chris Matthews, who’s excuse is down right pathetic:

MATTHEWS: He says his wife knew. He laid it out on her.

FEEHERY: Which is terrible. Terrible mistake.

MATTHEWS: But maybe she’s party responsible if she knew about it?

MACMAHON: She’s not responsible.

FEEHERY: She’s not responsible. Come on, that’s ridiculous.

I wonder what these people said after Chris Lee got caught with his shirt off?  I’m sure they made equal excuses for him….Yeah, right!

It is amazing to me that Baba Wawa even tries to facilitate a comparison between Palin and Weiner. In what context is their any similarity between Sarah Palin doing a bus tour to promote patriotism (even if it is a little self serving, but that is the beauty of being an American)? The liberal left is so out of touch with reality that they are trying to defend a sexual deviant and at the same time vilify a patriotic, independent woman with good Christian morals and devotion to family. Someone please tell me what is wrong with liberals?
