Qid Pro Quo?

It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to notice Ron Paul has been attacking all his opponents for not being real conservatives, that is except the most liberal of the candidates…Mitt R0mney.  Romney and Ron Paul went after Santorum in unison at the debates like the Cisco Kid and Panco, making yet again a perfectly happy couple.

Is it because Ron Paul is a secret liberal?  No, he is everything he says he is…and some of what most wouldn’t expect…a Politician.

Politicians are experts at making deals.  So what is the deal Ron Paul maybe cooking up?

An interview given by Rand Paul to WFPL News, Rand said:

Kentucky’s junior senator says it would be an honor to be considered as a possible running mate for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

… After a speech in Louisville today, Paul held that door firmly open, saying he wants to be part of the national debate.

… “I don’t know if I can answer that question, but I can say it would be an honor to be considered,” he said.

Ron Paul’s national campaign chairman, Jesse Benton, recently said: “Any Republican should have Rand Paul on his short list.”

This isn’t “proof” that this is exactly what Ron Paul is after, but something would have to explain Paul not attacking Romney the least conservative of all the candidates.

Having said all this, I wouldn’t mind Rand Paul being on the ticket as the Veep for Romney, I am a huge Rand Paul fan.  Rand could give Romney exactly what he needs, all the Ron Paul followers along with some conservative cred.

What does this potentially say about Ron Paul?  Does this lower his credibility, remaining in the race to help his kid?  This wouldn’t be unusual to see, it is part of being a dad to take one for your child.  It has happened to some of  the greats and some times that love has caused the loving father to hit the wall, just ask Dale Earnhardt Jr.
