Boston: Truths and Lies

After the tragic bombing in Boston, I pretty much had already figured out the bombers were neither extreme right wing or left wing nuts.  How did I know that?  The target!  Extreme right wing nuts would go after government buildings while the left wing would attack anything that represents money, i.e. Wall Street.  Attacking a street full of innocent bystanders didn’t fit either freaks book of horror.  Not according to the mainstream press however.

Erin Burnett of CNN seemed indignant when it was found the bombers were Islamic and not what she hoped were WHITE possibly conservative bombers.

“They are young. They’re white. They’re very confident. They kind of look like college kids,” Burnett said on the Thursday evening edition of her low-rated primetime show, “Outfront.”

Later in the show, when Rep. Mike McCaul (R-TX) mentioned that he knew the, “Justice Department has requested the assistance of foreign countries in terms of foreign travel” about the suspects, Burnett seemed shocked.

“On foreign travel?” she incredulously asked.

McCaul said there, “may be some sort of foreign connection here.”

“Wait,” Burnett interrupted. “Let me make sure I understand. Sorry, I want to make you understand. So they’re still looking into the possibility that even though these two kids look very, very stereotypically like they’re from here that this may be linked to a foreign terror group?”

McCaul then reiterated that it was “unclear and the nationalities are very unclear from the images that you see.”

I’m sure they had to pick Erin up off the ground sobbing as it became clear the two brothers are Islamic extremists.  Burnett did everything she could possibly do to make sure her viewers (all 5 of them) thought these guys were regular WHITE college guys, probably conservative as well.

We all heard the supposition all last week, from Salon magazine hoping, maybe even praying that the bombers were homegrown WHITE guys, to the talking heads (butts would be a more apt description) on MSNBC and CNN making sure to interject that this bombing, even though it had the earmarks of al-Qeada was probably homegrown and most likely right wing.

I will admit, there was one real BIG surprise from the entertainment world.  Bill Maher blasted Islam and defending Christianity.  Check out the video here.

This week, Maher obliterated a guest who dared compare Islamic terror to crimes committed by Christians.

You know what — that’s liberal bullshit right there … they’re not as dangerous. I mean there’s only one faith, for example, that kills you or wants to kill you if you draw a bad cartoon of the prophet. There’s only one faith that kills you or wants to kill you if you renounce the faith. An ex-Muslim is a very dangerous thing. Talk to Salman Rushdie after the show about Christian versus Islam.

The guest in question, Brian Levin, serves as director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at CSU-San Bernardino. When Levin brought up Islamic terrorism critic Pamela Gellar to bolster his flailing case, Maher served up one more obvious truth.

As many people have pointed out — ‘The Book of Mormon,’ did you see the show? … OK, can you imagine if they did ‘The Book of Islam?’ Could they do that? There’s only one religion that threatens violence and carries it out for things like that. Could they do “The Book of Islam” on Broadway?

I found myself picking up my jaw from the floor as well.  I’m sure Bill Maher standing up for Christianity in anyway is a sign of the apocalypse.  I have to give him kudos when he is right and although this is as rare as winning the Powerball Lotto, he is on the mark.  Don’t expect this to last however.  Life will return to normal with Maher, very quickly.

Last week proved to be a big defeat for the left, not only was the right wing not responsible for the terrorism in Boston, but al-Qeada might have had a big hand in it, even though Obama destroyed them.

Time to lick some wounds.
