Speech From 1899 Rings True Today

02 Sep 1949, London, England, UK --- British statesman Winston Churchill in 1949, smoking one of his beloved cigars as he leaves the plane that brought him back from a continental holiday. He caught cold while swimming on the Riviera, but soon recovered. --- Image by © Bettmann/CORBISWinston Churchill had many quotes that have been used to present day, but using some quotes from Churchill may land you in jail.  A political candidate, Paul Weston, from the UK got arrested last week for quoting a Churchill speech.  The speech is prophetic even today though, but don’t say that to CAIR or any other Muslim activist group.

What is it that caused such an uproar in the UK and probably would have here with all the bed wetters?  Here is the speech:

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities – but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.”

It is amazing how the fanatical Muslim world has not developed much beyond the date of this speech…1899.  Afghanistan, much of Pakistan, Iraq and Somalia and there are a few other smaller countries that are also third world Islamic states.  The Islamic states that are not third world have either been run by a secular dictator or have been friendly to the West, with the exception of Iran, which was a friendly country to the West in the not too distant past.

Many of the more fanatical Islamic groups (i.e. the Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, etc) are exactly as described by Churchill.

There is one glaring difference between today’s England and the England that Churchill knew and loved.  Look at Winston’s quote: “were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.”  Those days in England are past now, which does lead to the possible prediction of England falling much like ancient Rome.  Christianity is now passe’ in Britain and with the immigration of many Muslims into the UK, they are now able affect laws and rules in the not-so jolly ole England.  So much are the rules affected a person can not quote one of England’s greatest citizens.

Those of us in the US should pay attention to not only Churchill’s 1899 speech, but the effects a secular society is beginning to have on England.  Muslims want to conquer the world, but it won’t be with bullets and bombs.  It will be from within the “tolerant” countries forcing Islamization on them by laws then by the end of a sword.
